  • Lotion for lips, hands, feet, face and camera
  • Poncho and umbrella, extra sweater, bigger & better suitcase.

Suggestions for our next trip...

  • Don't complain, enjoy it, move fast!
  • Make sure everyone has at least one thing that they would absolutely die to see!
  • Don't stick with one clique the whole time, make new friends!
  • Learn something new everyday!
  • Remember to be courteous to older and younger people when getting on and off the tube.
  • Alternate buddies more often.
  • See as much as you can, you don't know when you will go again!
  • Be as nice as possible to your fellow troops members and strangers.
  • Come prepared for every type of weather and with a good attitude.
  • Plan to spend more time at Pax Lodge resting and bonding with the staff and other Girl Guides.
  • Include local food shopping for some local "culture."
  • Remember to treat everyone with respect and treat each other like you would want to be treated (the Golden Rule.)

How to prepare...

  • Get used to walking
  • Come with the understanding of tons of walking daily.
  • Don't be timid in a crowded subway station in order not to be run over
  • Get a book about London and read it before you go
  • Remember how to read the street signs and the road - which way to look.
  • Try new foods and drink plenty of water.
  • Bring a journal and write in it every day.
  • Walk some more...
  • Learn English words before you go and practice with the currency.
  • Bring gum for the flight.
  • Get in shape and do more walking...
  • Have a BooHoo Bear (Beanie Baby Bear, carried by the person who was caught complaining - then passed along to the next complainer!)
  • More walking...
  • Prepare a Scout's Own ceremony before you go.
  • Have Ziplock style bags with girls names for patches and awards purchased during the trip.
  • Bring 3x5 cards.  Each girl write daily meeting points and Underground directions at nightly meeting. Carry with them each day.
